CB400/4 F2 for sale

I have for sale my 1979 Honda Cb400/4 F2, I am selling the bike as I have lot a bit of my enthusiasm for motorcycling, and I think it’s got to the stage where it may become difficult for me to manage it, that is the only reason, I do not need to sell the bike but I would like to so I am open to offers.

My bike is a 1979 Honda CB400/4 F2, going by the date of 1979 registered in the log book I can only assume that it must have been a late registered bike it is in the vibrant Parakeet Yellow, the tank and mudguards have just been resprayed earlier this year 2023, by Gary at Spraypoint in Purleigh, who is renowned for his paint work, he also did my Triumph at the same time, and since having been painted the bikes have not been on the road.

The bike is in really lovely condition, especially with it’s new paint job,

It is fitted with new DID rims, which are immaculate, although, according to the receipts, they were fitted in 2008, however, looking through the mot certs the bike was showing in 2004 12,843 miles and now shows only 13,038 miles, so having done approximately 195 miles since they have been done they should be immaculate!

I had it’s carbs serviced by a local bike mechanic a few months ago with new float needles and seats fitted, so it runs lovely.

It is also fitted with engine protection bars, which I don’t think takes away from the look of the bike but I feel with the alternator cover protruding like it does they are handy to have and will protect the engine should the bike tip over.

I have some mot’s, not all, the first being 1989 which shows 11109 miles so it’s hardly done any miles in the proceeding years, with it now showing 13038 miles.

It will also come with the rare original owners handbook which usually resides under the seat.

You may have noticed there are 2 grab handles on the bike when they only came with one, I fitted the extra one as I thought when I got round to do a journey on it one on either side would help with securing a bag etc.

Again the V5 is in my name and there are spare keys with it along with receipts.

I am sure I have missed stuff out. I have attached pics of the bike but I have many more available should you be interested to see them.

In summary, it is a very nice bike, which has been well looked after, I am quite happy to chat on any aspect regarding the bike should you be interested, I am not hard to talk to, so please feel free to call.

I looked at a number of 400/4′s before finding and deciding on this one, the bike is in really lovely condition, it took me a while, and a bit of travelling to find the right one, it is a great all rounder any prospective buyer would be happy with the bike.

So, if I like it that much and have spent a bit on it why am I selling it?

I could go on about needing cash for another project or something similar but the truth is after 48 years of owning and riding motorcycles, I seem to have lost my enthusiasm; plain and simple, I have kind of fell out of love with motorcycling that, and managing the bikes, are the only reasons for selling.

I would like to ask £5995 which, on looking at the prices of some others I think is reasonable, I will of course consider offers as although I don’t have to sell I would like to.

If anyone is interested could they please contact me either by, email, or by phone, either home or mobile number.

By all means come and view the bike, or give me, Robert, a call I am quite happy to chat or answer ANY questions, condition, price etc., you may have.

Any test ride would be allowed provided I have a large cash deposit in exchange, proof of ID and insurance which allows you to ride another vehicle fully comp.
Sorry about the rules bit but I would not like to be messed about, just being careful and trying to make life simpler for both parties.

The bike is pick up only and I am happy to help with any courier should one be required.

Thanks for looking, as I said ANY questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Cheers
Robert
