1983 Benelli 900 SEI
Very good condition for year and showing a mileage of just over 6000 miles. Has the original ‘Silentium’ exhaust in excellent condition and also the duplex final drive chain. Engine ticks over nicely with no unusual noises or smoking.
I believe this is an American spec model as it has 22mm carbs (instead of 24mm) and European spec headlight. The speedometer is in MPH.
Upgrades include:
Sachse electronic ignition
New coils, leads, plug caps and plugs
New Brembo front master cylinder/brake lever
New right hand switchgear/twistgrip
New heavy duty Motobatt battery
S&B air filters
Reconditioned carbs
Drilled brake discs
The brakes have been de-linked at some point.
Tyres are practically new.
Horns have been moved to under the seat to allow fitment of an oil cooler if required. A worthwhile modification which can be done for under £150. I have done this on my other Benelli and it looks very smart and it’s easy to do. I can supply a detailed diagram and list of parts needed for this.
From a riding point of view the bike rides and handles very well and whoever says that these Benellis are underpowered hasn’t ridden this one! I found the midrange very tractable (possibly due to the slightly smaller carbs) and it’s just great fun rolling on the throttle to get that surge of acceleration and tremendous roar from the ’Silentium’ exhausts.
The bike has just been given a FULL YEARS MOT (expires 18th August 2015). No tax, but this can be arranged at extra cost if necessary.
Viewing welcome.
