I have decided to sell my bike because at 72, it’s getting a bit difficult to lift onto the rear stand.
It was purchased from a reputable dealer in classic bikes on 10/10/12 with 14,346 on the clock. It was advertised as being in excellent condition and had been given ‘ a very tougher rebuild ‘ ( including big end bearing ).
Off the sprocket ( gearbox ) speedo drive refurbished, BTH mag. rebuilt, wiring overhauled throughout, clutch cleaned and new Lucas headlamp glass and reflector fitted.
It comes with decades of servicing invoices, log book, MOT cents. tax discs and a V MCC certificate from factory records showing frame engine and gearbox to be original and that it was despatched on 12/8/49.
During my time I have refurbished the seat, upgraded to 12v, replaced fork stanchions, bushes and seals, fitted new ammeter, new pipes and silencers, and carb. cleaned to cope with ethanol.
I have kept a log book showing details of all journys made and servicing carried out.
The bike is used regularly on dry days and the mileage now reads 16,955.
This lovely Speedtwin is offered for sale at £ 8,000.
