I looked at this bike through the window of an antique shop in Gosport for a long long while as a teenager, dreaming of what it’d be like to own a Model C (when we had ‘only’ Model B and Model A Ner-a-cars). (see photo 4 which was all I could see through the antique shop window).
A year or so ago I had the opportunity to buy the exact bike.
It’s the most wonderful and usable of Ner-a-car models with the Blackburne engine and sturmey-archer gearbox.
I prefer to use the Model C due to the conventional clutch lever and goes well compared to the twist grip friction drive and two stroke motor of the Model B or Model A.
I have a family though, this is a motorcycle so I am offering my beloved bike for sale so I can pursue my other hobby, vintage cars and take the family with me.
The Ner-a-car has been sympathetically restored and is fully ‘matching numbers’ and a pure delight to ride. Rebuilt magneto and relined clutch means it’s ready to go, ride it home.
