BSA A7SS 1960

The motorcycle was rescued from a scrap yard in1973 and fully restored. It was restored generally to a as new condition, some extras were added but have now been removed or original parts are available. From 1974 to 84 it was in storage. From 1984 to 2004 it was used was as a summer weekend bike and placed in storage over the winter. From 2004 it has been in permanent storage. The mileage from restoration to storage is just over 11,250
I had the intention that when I retired I would get it back to show condition, since retirement I have not had the time to get started and do not see having time in the near future hence the sale.
The pictures are as it came out of storage and I do not intend to do any work on it before sale. Before going into storage the oils were changed and all parts oil. It was in full working order at that time. I have kicked the engine over and turned freely from the start. There is still some compression in the cylinders. I have no intention of starting the engine before sale as I believe a very full service should be done on the engine before starting to avoid any possibility of damage. The bike ran freely on its own wheels from the store to my lockup where it is currently kept.
When the bike came out of the scrap yard all the body and frame parts were there and reuseable. All parts were shot blasted and re-sprayed black. New rims and exhaust system was fitted. The engine, gearbox and primary drive was completely stripped and rebuilt. Old parts, replaced during the rebuild are all available.
Extensive paperwork is available for the bike including the original registration document from new through to the current V5C document. Paperwork from that restoration is available. An original owner’s handbook and a BSA service sheet book is available.
The current body work condition is sound there is very little surface rust and no deep corrosion. The wheel rims and silencers show a little rusting but the chrome plating looks reasonable.
The bike is located just outside Glasgow, near the M8, the buyer would be responsible for transport but I will do all I can to assist.
I am struggling to set a price for the bike hence I have suggest offers around £2500 that is negotiable depending on the interest there is on the bike.
